Co-working spaces in South Riding?

Curious what people think. It's a a smaller city city with about 34,200 people. You can expect to pay around $2,853 for rent here. Homes are going for about $689,400 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for South Riding? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Raleigh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the West side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
