Weekend activities in South River?

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 30s, and Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What neighborhoods would you suggest? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The dating scene is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in engineering here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is improving. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 4 years. Moved from Austin for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is solid - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Dating scene is rough. Bugs and humidity in summer. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much reasonable but now it's better than expected.
