I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $68,035 in South Salt Lake. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Winters are long and cold
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is solid.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..
