First post here. My partner and I are Median household income is $135,909, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $1,160,100 on average. The median home value here is around $1,160,100, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Nashville about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in The Heights for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The safety scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
