Hi all, I relocated for work and Median household income is $135,909, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $1,160,100, which is pretty steep. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? Thanks in advance! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Dallas about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Dallas it's tough.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
