South St. Paul quality of life -am I missing something?

Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and It's a a small town city with about 20,633 people. You can expect to pay around $1,128 for rent here. With a population of 20,633, South St. Paul is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Sunset area are underrated. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The outdoor recreation scene is average

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
