Most overrated things about South Valley

First post here. Born and raised here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
