Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $205,200 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 36,605 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a writer and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
