South Valley quality of life -am I missing something?

Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $942/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
