Is South Whittier good for remote workers?

Homes are going for about $641,700 on average. Median household income is $98,974, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
