What's it really like living in South Whittier?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Poverty rate is 7.4%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Nashville about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
