Alright, Household incomes average around $85,573 in Southchase. Rent is about $1,798/month for a decent place. Median household income is $85,573, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,798 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? Any help is appreciated. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely excellent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
