Couple moving to Southgate from out of state

So, Homes are going for about $165,400 on average. Rent is about $1,102/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned? The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
