Is Southlake a good place to live?

Hello, Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I work in construction here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is decent. Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is excellent in most areas.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Indian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 7 years. Moved from Minneapolis for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is tough - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Winters are long and cold. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Dallas it's challenging.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor recreation is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
