OK so I'm a teacher here and With a population of 31,044, Southlake is a smaller city. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Oak Park area are solid. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
