Planning a move to Spanaway -neighborhoods?

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. With a population of 34,322, Spanaway is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,782/month for a decent place. Median household income is $94,028, which feels pretty solid for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in Fairview for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- The outdoor recreation scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..
