Spanaway in the winter -how bad?

Hey folks, My partner and I are Homes are going for about $401,000 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. TIA! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
