Life in Sparrow Bush as a young professional

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I've been here for 20 years and The unemployment rate is 7.1%, which is concerning. Crime rate is something to consider -Sparrow Bush sits at 266.6 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from San Francisco about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
