Top 5 things I love about Spearfish

Hi all, Been living here since 2009. You can expect to pay around $941 for rent here. Poverty rate is 7.7%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Does this match your experience? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
