Best things about Spokane Valley that nobody talks about

As a 8-year resident, here are some things about Spokane Valley that don't make it into the guides:

1. There are amazing hiking trails 20 min from downtown
2. Community events happen almost every weekend
3. The local craft beer scene is legit

The job market has been improving lately. Several retail companies moved in recently.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Midtown. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.
