Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Crime rate is something to consider -Spokane Valley sits at 308.0 per 100K. Median household income is $70,722, which feels about average for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The weather is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Westside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cultural scene scene is tough
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Maple Ridge for 15 years. Moved from San Francisco for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Limited entertainment options. And dating scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 1 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
