Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider — Spokane sits at 689.6 per 100K. It's a a mid-size city city with about 229K people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
