Been meaning to ask this. Just moved here 7 months ago and Rent is about $1,794/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:

- The traffic scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Limited shopping options. And housing market can be frustrating.
