Is Spring getting better or worse?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Spring sits at 63.2 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,656 for rent here. Poverty rate is 6.5%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely challenging and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
