OK so It's a a smaller city city with about 67,103 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Houston it's underrated.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 12 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
