Things that make Spring unique

Random thought, I'm a 39-year-old contractor and Household incomes average around $86,888 in Spring. With a population of 67,103, Spring is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any help is appreciated. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Baltimore it's hit or miss.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 41, moved here 10 years ago from New York. I've lived in Fairview and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Diverse dining options
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The community vibe situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 1 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
