Rent in Spring Valley getting crazy

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 220K, Spring Valley is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $72,364 in Spring Valley. You can expect to pay around $1,642 for rent here. Homes are going for about $407,900 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? Thanks for reading. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
