Working in Spring Valley -salaries realistic?

Hey folks, Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,673/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 26.2%, which is higher than I expected. Household incomes average around $56,151 in Spring Valley. It's a a smaller city city with about 32,995 people. Median household income is $56,151, which feels about average for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Would love some local perspective. Cheers. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to.

Came here for school and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The dating scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in The Heights for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The healthcare scene is average

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Hope this helps!.
