Is Springdale a good place to live?

Hi all, Homes are going for about $237,200 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Lakewood area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The housing market is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Denver about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Miami it's decent.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The pet-friendliness is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 7 years. Moved from San Diego for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Far from beaches/mountains. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been in Eastside for 6 years. Moved from Miami for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 1 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Charlotte about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.
