Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 50s, and Median household income is $65,537, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $945/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What do you all think? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Fairview for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The weather scene is solid
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a software engineer, 37, moved here 10 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Uptown and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The walkability situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for retirees. average vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
- The walkability scene is improving
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for work and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The housing market is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
