Springfield in the winter — how bad?

Military spouse here. With a population of 155K, Springfield is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $51,339 in Springfield. Rent is about $1,114/month for a decent place. It's a a mid-size city city with about 155K people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? Thanks! It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Indian places. the quality of life is solid.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much pricey but now it's hit or miss.
