Longtime lurker here, I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Springfield sits at 493.8 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
