Thinking about relocating to Springfield from Portland
Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and With a population of 61,642, Springfield is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $67,211 in Springfield. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
