Studio apartments in Squirrel Mountain Valley -options?
Hey folks, Homes are going for about $345,500 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Squirrel Mountain Valley sits at 392.4 per 100K. The median home value here is around $345,500, which seems about average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 13 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
