Anyone work in healthcare in St. Albans?

So, Household incomes average around $58,788 in St. Albans. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The housing market is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely solid and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
