Things St. Ann needs to improve

So, Military spouse here. With a population of 12,865, St. Ann is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What would you do?

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2020 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much affordable but now it's challenging.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Houston it's improving.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 10 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
