How is St. Bernard for outdoor activities?

Curious what people think. We have two kids and The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 3,998 people. Household incomes average around $74,911 in St. Bernard. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
