First post here. My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,186 for rent here. With a population of 71,048, St. Charles is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,186/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.
