How is St. Charles for outdoor activities?

The median home value here is around $280,800, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,186/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -St. Charles sits at 183.9 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Tampa about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
