Studio apartments in St. Clair Shores -options?

Hey, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $72,693 in St. Clair Shores. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 36, moved here 15 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Sunset and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The nightlife situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for couples. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in government. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

No regrets on my end..
