So, With a population of 61,963, St. Cloud is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 9 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in consulting. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
