Working in St. Cloud -salaries realistic?

Median household income is $76,196, which feels about average for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Uptown area are improving. Kids love it here.

Came here for work and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The traffic is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Vietnamese places. it was the best decision I ever made.

Bought a house here in 2018 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much pricey but now it's pretty good.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is excellent in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 46, moved here 1 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Downtown and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The safety situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
