Hey, Median household income is $58,490, which feels about average for the area.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 7 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Eastside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The traffic is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- The cultural scene scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into running, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Charlotte about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
