Hello, Crime rate is something to consider -St. George sits at 203.0 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What would you do? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely solid and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Highland) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Westside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- The outdoor recreation scene is solid
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
