I'm originally from Chicago and Crime rate is something to consider -St. George sits at 203.0 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The safety is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is challenging in most areas.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The healthcare is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Chicago about 13 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
