Is St. George worth moving to in 2026?

Hello, Rent is about $1,429/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 99,184 people. With a population of 99,184, St. George is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? Cheers. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Bought a house here in 2019 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Downtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
- The housing market scene is solid

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Raleigh it's tough.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
