St. George is underrated, change my mind

Hello, I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 99,184 people. You can expect to pay around $1,429 for rent here. Homes are going for about $456,900 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -St. George sits at 203.0 per 100K. The median home value here is around $456,900, which is pretty steep. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
- Far from major airports
Has anyone dealt with this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (South) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
