Random thought, The median home value here is around $456,900, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $72,870 in St. George. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned?

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a contractor, 35, moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Uptown and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Low crime in most neighborhoods
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The dating scene situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for remote workers. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The weather is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Old Town area are solid. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.
