Rent in St. James getting crazy

Hi all, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. With a population of 4,581, St. James is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 5 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
