Curious what people think. Household incomes average around $130,556 in St. James. Poverty rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The safety is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
